Hey Friends!
We are getting your orders for Social Studies & Arts Ed books! Thank you. For those of you are working your way to those steps, I thought I'd send out a reminder to you of what those steps are. DO reach out to me with any questions. I know many of you are new to this....and the rest of you do a zillion other things besides ordering books. This is all we do! AND - if you're not quite there yet, it may help you to print this!
- Get quotes for your district from the publishers you are choosing. Don't ask them to break it down by school in the quote - because that might limit the "free withs" that you earn. Ask for quotes based on the grade level numbers you see in PowerSchool in total for the grade levels - with you padding it in whatever way you think is best given your enrollment shift patterns. VERIFY the quote carefully to be sure it's correct & is what you want! Remember any off list books you may wish to get (AP; social studies elective) as well as arts ed, if you are ordering those. Those off list books are found on our website under local contracts.
- Get PO(s) made out to PW. It can be one big PO, a PO per school, or POs per publisher - whatever you & your CSFO want to do. But POs from the district office. The POs should match the total in the quotes, obviously. And remember, if a publisher's quote includes shipping, you leave that OFF the PO! PW does not charge you shipping. Remember to coach your business offices on making POs out to PW. In their world, it's really different to have a quote from a pub company while making POs out to a different one.
- If your total comes out to more than you have in FY 26 funds - we do offer "delayed billing" at PW with no additional charges. It's actually a good year to do it, as next year - digital literacy - is a very light expenditure for your $100 per student in textbooks. Many of you may need to do a math gap package as well in FY 27 - but we'll discuss that in the fall. If you need to take advantage of that option, when you prepare to submit the PO(s) to us, specify how much of the total comes from this year's FY 26 balance. You want to put your full balance toward it - & then that remaining amount will go toward FY 27 - the delayed billing. Remember, your FY 26 allocation included $100 per student in the Foundation Program as well as an additional supplemental allocation in Fund Source Code #1772. BTW, it's best to go ahead a specify a "payment plan" with us in that email, if your CSFO is ready to do that, when you submit your PO. For example, if you have a $75,000 balance for next year, do you plan to send us $7,500 a month beginning in Oct. Of 2027 toward that balance? Or - would you play bigger chunks quarterly? We're flexible. This step is NOT necessary if you're able to be within budget. Contact Wendi Spencer in our office for more details on payment plans.
- Specify if you want your books sent directly to one location or broken out to be delivered to your schools. If it's one location, it's pretty straight forward. But if you want the books broken out, be sure you submit your order - your POs, & your quotes - along with a spreadsheet or listing of how the books on the quotes will be divided out to the schools. If you do a PO per school & include the numbers on it - & you have the delivery address/contact info on the PO - then that takes care of all of that for you. Again, just make sure all your numbers & totals add up. It's however you & your CSFO wish to do it! The email is orders@publisherswarehouse.com.
Regarding Shipping...we have just begun receiving our first shipments of social studies books - with many more on the way! We also have many more consumable texts in the other 3 major subjects to still ship out as well. Our warehouse began working on weekends this last week! With our shipping logistics, we consider the following:
- Is your order complete? Sometimes if there are multiple parts to a bundle, we may have some - but not all.
- Prioritize bulk orders - those tend to go our first, as they are the biggest & easiest to pull, making room in the warehouse for more books. Consider that possibility - if you want your books soon rather than later. This is one of several "logistical puzzle pieces" that Davonia takes into account.
- First-come, First served - Our system is set up to complete orders by the date they are put in the system.
Finally - one other bit of news for you: If your district teaches AP Stats, there are major revisions to that course beginning this coming year. Two of our publishers have new textbook offerings for you that meet those new course standards set by the College Board. Like with most of our AP resources, we have off list local contracts for them found on this page in the math section.
For more information or for samples for new AP Stats books, please contact these publishing company representatives directly. They are:
- BFW - Katy Hale - khale@bfwpub.com - 904.504.3373
- Pearson - Brady Svec - brady.svec@pearson.com - 614.210.1103
As you will recall, both of these publishers, along with your McGraw-Hill & Cengage reps, offer social studies electives & AP books as well. Those listings are found on that same page in the social studies section & may be ordered through Publishers' Warehouse.
Alrighty - you're at 3rd base, heading for home on the 2025-2026 school year! Hang in there - & holler at me if I can help you to be safe at the plate! ('tis baseball season, after all!).
